Remember this picture? Remember when Volodymyr Zelenskyy wasn’t grateful enough for U.S. support for Ukraine, and MAGA world was outraged at his disrespect of the president for standing up to Vice President JD Vance’s public humiliation? Well, apparently the president of Ukraine and his country are back in the American government’s good graces. Now that Donald Trump is tired of getting jerked around by the Russian leader with whom he’s been through so much, Patriot missiles will soon be on their way to Ukraine, he says, so the country can better defend itself against increased Russian bombing.

Additionally, President Trump is threatening his old pal Vladimir Putin with severe tariffs if he doesn’t reach a ceasefire in 50 days. Who knows what Putin’s response will be? This should get interesting – but hopefully not more deadly at the same time.

There’s speculation that the timing of the day’s announcement was meant to give MAGA world something else to chew on, besides Tucker Carlson accusing the administration of making claims about the Epstein files that they can’t substantiate and becoming part of the Deep State that it was allegedly supposed to be exposing. As of this writing, it was not working. This, too, is getting more interesting by the day. But none of it is keeping employees of the State or Education Departments from being laid off. None of it is making the enforcement of civil immigration law any less controversial.

But those items are less moving to the MAGA faithful. And what moves the MAGA faithful seems most important to this iteration of the U.S. government. So… on to day seven of Trump voters’ discomfort with the administration it elected. Let’s see what policy change follows tomorrow from the president’s attempt to deal with that discomfort.
