Scuttlebutt among Washington’s talking heads today included commentary on Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s Sunday show cry of “fake news” in response to reports that her personal delay in approving FEMA funds interfered in the agency’s response to the deadly Texas flooding. The denial seems untrue, according to multiple sources talking to CNN, but it was certainly not a surprise.
It also included chatter about the ongoing anger in MAGA world over the Epstein client list betrayal, as the president himself tried to defuse it with a call for MAGA unity. Some pundits want Democrats to jump in front of a microphone or two to point out the hypocrisy over the broken promise and fuel the flames of discontent.
There’s something to be said for staying out of the way of this drama. It’s quite possible that the moment Democrats get on the same side as the MAGA not-necessarily-faithful crowd, they will immediately become faithful again just to shake the solidarity with hated Dems.
And for those perpetually disturbed about a mass deportation program carried out by officials with a suspect interpretation of the Constitution, the most newsworthy quotes of the day came from border czar Tom Homan who said, “The administration is never going to go against a judge’s order.” There are a couple of hundred men in a prison in El Salvador who would beg to differ.
He also said, “…if you’re in the country legally, you shouldn’t fear ICE.” Dana Bash thankfully didn’t miss a beat and reminded him he had just said there are sometimes collateral arrests. That fact would be why legal immigrants are afraid of being wrongfully arrested or deported, she noted. At that point, the border czar stopped talking about fear and started talking about Biden.
Homan confirmed the administration will appeal the order denying ICE the ability to conduct indiscriminate raids, and he believes the administration will win. In this climate, the official irrelevance of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments might actually come to pass, and that’s definitely not fake news.

Right now, the sum of our government and the sum of the judicial are both like one huge web of pathological lies being told at every level starting from the top down. These lies are then regurgitated by the propagandist media that feeds the pathological denial and truth-alergic neurosis of white supremacy, which is what the MAGA masses feed on.
They won’t care about the Fourth or Fifth Amendments until it’s their doors being busted down.

“Propagandist media” is an awfully wide net and therefore inaccurate.

Well, that was not a commentary on all media, just Fox and individuals who support, through their own social means what is happening.

Guess I should have clarified: I wasn’t using “propagandist” as an adjective to describe the media in general. I meant “propagandist media” as the entire noun…the media purposefully engaged in spreading the propaganda of this regime. I do take your point though…that the term “propagandist media” is too easily an inflammatory term.
